TikTok nurse recruiting that produces applications, not views.
Nurses under 35 spend more time on TikTok than on every job board combined. Most health systems either ignore it or post polished corporate video that nobody watches. Here is what actually produces applicants.
Who it reaches
Younger nurses, new grads, and travel nurses, the exact population that changes jobs most often and is hardest to reach through boards. Night-shift and travel roles perform best because the content and the audience match.
The creative that works
- A real nurse, on the unit, talking to the camera. Fifteen seconds, phone-shot, no logo intro. Polished production reads as an ad and gets skipped.
- The number in the first two seconds. "$2,450 a week, ICU nights, 13 weeks" as the opening line, spoken and on screen.
- One specific per video. The ratio, the differential, the self-scheduling, the housing stipend. Not all of them.
- Refresh weekly. TikTok creative fatigues in days. A library of short clips from several nurses beats one produced video.
The rules
Employment ads on TikTok have their own restricted targeting, similar in spirit to Meta's Special Ad Categories. Creative does the targeting: the specifics self-select the audience. No preference signals in copy.
The follow-up decides it
TikTok applicants apply from the couch at 11 PM. A two-tap application and a text reply within 60 seconds are the difference between a view and a hire. Send TikTok traffic to a careers page with a next-day reply and the channel will look like it failed.
How to measure
Cost per qualified applicant and cost per interview, not views or engagement. TikTok is cheap on views and can be excellent on applicants; judge it on the second number.
